1. FFK writes Daily Trust; demands N6b damage fee and an apology over ‘defamatory’ publication

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has demanded a N6 billion compensation and an apology from Daily Trust newspaper over claims of defamation.

In a letter signed by his counsel, Adeola Adesipe,  and titled, ‘Defamation of the Character of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode by Iliyasu Gadu’, FFK said it is in response to a publication by the newspaper titled ‘FFK, the Drug Addled Thug in Designer Wears’ which was published on August 29.

2. BBNaija 2020: Brighto Opens Up On Feelings for Dorathy, Wathoni

Former BBnaija housemate, Brighto says he has no feelings for Dorathy and likes Wathoni, but not enough for a relationship.

Brighto who was the 9th housemate to be evicted from the lockdown edition said this during a chat with the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

3. Two policemen die in accident involving Oshiomhole’s convoy in Edo

Two policemen attached to former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, died in an accident involving some of the cars in his convoy in Edo state today, September 1st.

Oshiomhole’s convoy was on its way to join the APC campaign train for the September 19 Governorship Election when an articulated vehicle lost control and ran into his convoy near Oluku junction in the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.

A statement released by Oshiomhole’s media aide, Victor Oshoke, disclosed that two other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident.

4. GTBank Accused Of Using Customer’s Money To Play Bet, As Customers Lose About N770,000

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has been involved in series of fraudulent transfers from customers’ accounts.

Customers’ accounts are being debited illegally, with the money transferred to bet companies. There are assertions that GTBank is reportedly using customers money for betting without authorisation, as customers money are being debited for betting only in recent times.

One of the affected customers, Funke Adeoye said GTBank transferred NGN200,000 from her account balance to an account belonging to Bet9ja, but gave her flimsy reasons for the deduction, and another GTBank customer, Abimbola Omolade, said NGN45,900 was transferred from his GTBank account to a Sporty bet account.

5. BBNaija 2020: ‘Stay Away From Erica, Vee Tells Neo

The beef between BBNaija housemates, Vee, and Erica might not be ending soon as she has cautioned her love interest, Neo against talking to her.

Their beef sprang up after Vee advised Laycon to get over his feelings for Erica because she only “uses him”.

6. Dangote endorses Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for World Trade Organization DG Job

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has endorsed former finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to replace Brazil’s Roberto Azevedo, as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization next year.

Aliko Dangote took to twitter to show his support for Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, who is one of the candidates vying for the position which became vacant following the resignation of Roberto Azevedo on Monday, August 31.

7. By-Elections: APC Clears 45 Aspirants to Contest Primaries

The All Progressives Congress has cleared 45 aspirants to justle for the party’s ticket ahead of By-elections scheduled to take place in October.

Announcing the development in a statement on Tuesday, the party said that it cleared all aspirants that purchased expression of interest and nomination form to contest the party’s primary elections billed to hold on  Thursday 3rd, September 2020” in the affected states.

Nkechi Blessing, a Nollywood actress has taken to her Insta-Story to slam those who criticize Big Brother Housemate, Laycon because of his looks.

According to her, Laycon didn’t create himself and he doesn’t deserve to be looked down on.

9. Biafra: IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu Reacts to Adeboye’s Visit to Buhari, Ridicules Osinbajo

Nnamdi Kanu, a Nigerian Biafra political activist, and leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria, has said that because he demanded an explanation about Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s whereabouts, “Jihadists in Aso Rock compiled photoshopped pictures to keep deceiving Nigerians”.
