Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, the president-elect and vice president-elect, respectively, are in danger, according to Prof. Ishaq Akintola, executive director of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC). As a result, he implores security agencies to strengthen their protection of the pair.

Prof. Ishaq made the request in a statement released on Friday in Lagos in response to alleged rising security risks and comments from the opposition camp that were seen as desperate and treasonous.

The lives of the president-elect and his vice president must be kept safe at all costs, according to the MURIC Director.

“I’m healthy and very strong” – Tinubu, tells Nigerians

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu refuted rumors that his health was deteriorating and assured Nigerians that he is “very strong” in a statement to the press.

There were rumors that Tinubu was rushed abroad for medical attention after leaving the country in a jet and landing in France late at night.

I’m strong and in good health, Tinubu assures Nigerians.
Despite the All Progressives Congress, or APC’s, insistence that the president-elect only traveled to relax and recover from the stress of the election, some stakeholders have questioned his whereabouts and state of health.

On Monday, shortly after arriving in Abuja, Tinubu spoke with a few party members, stressing that he had a good night’s sleep and felt refreshed and ready for the challenge ahead.

Speaking to the crowd who followed him home, the President-elect said:

“I’m happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed, and healthy and I’m ready for the task ahead. Forget about what the rumor mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.”
