Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has reacted to a viral video showing the killing of a teacher.

Reports indicate that a Mathematics teacher in Oyo State, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was allegedly killed by suspected Fulani terrorists, sparking widespread reactions online.

Reacting via her Instagram page, Jegede expressed deep sorrow over the incident. She noted that while only a section of people appear to be speaking up, the issue should concern everyone.

She further lamented what she described as growing brutality in society, adding that many people seem to have become less vocal in holding authorities accountable. Calling the situation inhumane, she also expressed worry over what she sees as a lack of collective resistance to such violent acts.

“It is sad that when I look at the news, it looks like it is only a certain group of people that are complaining when it is supposed to be ALL OF US. This is not good for us, not in the eyes of man, not in the eyes of God (because nobody calls God more than us), not in the eyes of humanity, not even economically. I don’t see this angering us enough to speak out against it without fear. This should scare you more. This blood thirst is getting closer than we think.

This is inhumane in a country where we don’t have ambulances, toll-free numbers, or proper healthcare facilities. I am worried why we are not all standing against this. Are we now ok with this? Nigerians, is this the new standard?”.
