A video that has sparked outrage on social media shows the moment a customs officer assaulted Samson Nwachukwu, the special assistant of the Delta State Governor, Okowa.
It was unclear what the misunderstanding was but it appeared the Custom Officers had confronted the Aide and they decided to show him how common he is.
He landed a hefty slap on Samson Nwachukwu’s face whilst yelling at him. Samson Nwachukwu did not retaliate in any way.
The disturbing video was shared on Twitter by Human Rights Activists and Director-General Behind Bars, Harrison Gwamnishu.
The victim, Samson Nwachuckwu is confirmed to be a human rights volunteer and Special Assistant to Delta State Governor.
The incident which reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon has caused stirs in the Delta community of Agbor.
Gwamnishu has since lamented the treatment of his colleague by the uniformed officers.
He threatened that “We are shutting down that expressway tomorrow (Monday) to demand justice.”
