Tanker Explosion Kills Eleven in Abuja.

It has been reported that at least 11 people, including three Almajirai, have been killed in an oil tanker explosion in the Gawu area of ​​Abaji Local Government Area of ​​the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The names of the Almajirai have not yet been determined, but the others include a married woman named Halima Mohammed Yusuf, the leader of the Kato-da-gora community in Gawu, Adamu Ibrahim.

A local resident, Usman Yakubu, said the incident happened around 9:00 am on Sunday when the tanker was trying to avoid colliding with a truck.

According to him, some residents of the area, after noticing that the oil was leaking, came out with jerry cans and buckets to loot.

He added, “The leaking fuel caught fire and killed three Almajirai and eight others, including a woman who came to expel the disciples from there.”

In Gawu, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim said, “Unfortunately, another woman also lost her life trying to rescue the children. They have all been buried in accordance with Islamic rites,” he said.

The Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Abuja, Wobin Gora confirmed the incident by mobile phone.

He said 11 people were burnt to death, while 10 others; eight men and two women who sustained burns have been rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
