- The court ruled that Ighodalo failed to prove claims of over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the September 21, 2024 election.
- It held that most of the evidence was not properly demonstrated and key witnesses were not presented.

The Supreme Court has affirmed Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Edo State.
In a unanimous decision on Thursday, a five-member panel led by Justice Mohammed Garba dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asuerinme Ighodalo, citing lack of credible evidence.
The court ruled that Ighodalo failed to prove claims of over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the September 21, 2024 election. It held that most of the evidence was not properly demonstrated and key witnesses were not presented.
The ruling upholds previous judgments by the Edo State Election Tribunal and the Court of Appeal, which also validated Okpebholo’s election.
