- Delta State Police PRO, Bright Edafe, has reacted to the alleged extrajudicial killing of a suspect by an ASP, calling it one of his most difficult moments in office.
- He defended procedural steps taken by the police but insisted that justice must be served as public outrage continues to grow.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, has reacted to the alleged extrajudicial killing of a suspect by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), describing the incident as one of the most difficult moments of his career.
In a strongly worded response, Edafe said:
“Spiritu@lity, But in This Case, Spirituality Is the Only Explanation for What He Did”
He also explained why the faces of the arrested officers were reportedly covered, stating it was due to the sensitivity of the matter.
“The reason why their faces were covered was because of the s£nsitivity of the matter at that time… until they are dismissed and charged to court, they are still our officers.”
Edafe, however, insisted that the police do not cover officers to protect wrongdoing, adding:
“It is not pardonable… the police does not cover officers like that.”
He further noted that the incident has been personally difficult for him since assuming office.
“Since I Became Police PRO in Delta State, This Is My Most Difficult Moment. Police Cannot Attribute Problem to”
He stressed that justice must remain the priority, not just procedural explanations:
“A life was lost people want justice, not just procedure explanations”
