Soldiers from the Joint Task Force’s North West Operation Hadarin Jadi have eliminated terrorist strongholds, neutralized numerous terrorists, and retrieved weapons and ammunition from the states of Zamfara and Sokoto.

News reporters were given access to this information on Thursday through a press release issued by Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the military spokesperson.

Yahaya stated that in order to guarantee the security and preservation of people and property over the holiday season, the military has stepped up its assault on terrorists.

He said, “Today, December 14, 2023, troops of the OPHD coordinated a clearance operation within Dada, Rukudawa and Dumburum villages in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“During the operation, an encounter ensued between the troops and the marauding terrorists which the troops’ power superiority forced the terrorists to retreat and flee with gunshot wounds while one of them was neutralised.

“Furthermore, the troops advanced aggressively and destroyed enclaves of dreaded terrorist kingpins, Gwaska Dan Karami and Dangote, who abandoned their hideouts and escaped in disarray.”

According to Yahaya, during a mop-up, the military found two firearms, two motorcycles, various pairs of camouflaged clothing, communication devices, and ammo.

Yahaya reported that four terrorists were neutralized in Masasa village in Sokoto State by the joint soldiers of the OPHD during a clearance operation.

He insisted that during the confrontation, two Tecno phones, N282,050 in cash, and one AK-47 rifle were found by the troops, and other terrorists fled with bullet wounds.
