Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has melted hearts online after her respectful interaction with veteran actress Joke Silva at a recent event.
The two stars met at an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) event held in honour of movie industry practitioners. Anunobi, who was heading to her seat, spotted Silva from a distance and immediately went over to greet her.
On her way, she briefly stopped to tell someone she would return to greet them before continuing to Joke Silva. The evangelist then knelt down to exchange pleasantries with the veteran actress.
While still kneeling, Anunobi asked after the well-being of Joke Silva’s husband, Olu Jacobs. Both actresses shared smiles as Silva gently urged her to get up and even assisted her while they continued their conversation for a few minutes.
The moment has since sparked reactions online, with many fans praising Anunobi’s gesture and describing it as a sign of respect. Some also encouraged younger entertainers to emulate her example.
Others referenced a recent controversy involving Toyin Abraham, who was criticised after she was seen kneeling for Funke Akindele, noting that some Gen Z actresses might consider such a gesture unusual or unacceptable.

@ dhamysamuel:”Now this new generation would say that can’t be me, why can’t she stand up to greet me first, who is she? Who does she think she is? You don’t need all of that kneeling. See her ask how Daddy Ma is, thank you, ma . They lead by example. These are the real celebrities who have kept our culture, pride, and walked the path for people to see.”
