Leicester City stars together with the entire board of the club gathered on the pitch at the King Power Stadium on Monday to mourn the death of their billionaire owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who died in a Helicopter crash on Saturday night.
His son, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha was also pictured at the stadium as he laid a wreath in the centre circle alongside his mother Aimon, Vichai’s widow as the players paid their respect.
Striker Jamie Vardy and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel were visibly emotional as they broke down in tears on the pitch.
Vichai, 60, who amassed a net worth of $4.9 billion died alongside two other passengers and two pilots on Saturday when his own helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from the centre circle following Leicester’s draw with West Ham.
Mr Srivaddhanaprabha’s helicopter took off from the King Power Stadium and then plunged down after Leicester City’s Saturday game against West Ham, eyewitnesses claim, before crashing in the car park near the south-east corner of the ground and erupting in a ball of flames.
