Nigerian singer Chike has publicly accused a social media user, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, of allegedly scamming him in a failed business deal.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning, the music star shared a series of posts claiming he handed over $20,000 to Chioma for a business opportunity that never materialized.

According to the singer, he only realized much later that he might have been deceived. Expressing his frustration, Chike wrote that people often present themselves as running legitimate businesses while actually living off other people’s money.

In one of the posts, he stated: “Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money.

“$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped. Even me I de laugh myself.”

The singer also cautioned his followers to avoid entering into any form of business arrangement with the woman he accused of fraud.

When some users asked him to explain the type of business transaction involved, Chike responded that the exact nature of the deal was not the main concern. He insisted that the real issue is that the supposed business did not exist in the first place, which he described as fraud.

Chike further disclosed that he has begun steps to recover the money he claimed to have lost in the alleged scheme.

As of the time of reporting, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has not publicly responded to the allegations made by the singer.
