A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after sharing a heartbreaking story about a 43-year-old woman whose decision at age 29 changed the course of her life.
According to the story, the woman was in a relationship with a hardworking plumber who genuinely loved her and was ready to marry her after she got pregnant.
“When I told him I was pregnant, he said he would meet my parents and do the introduction, even if it was simple. He promised to work harder so I wouldn’t give birth outside wedlock,” she said.
However, things took a different turn when she met a wealthy man who lived a flashy lifestyle, owned a car, and spent heavily on her from the very first day.
Blinded by the lifestyle, she began dating both men and eventually used money given to her by the rich man to terminate her pregnancy. She also lied to her boyfriend until the truth eventually came out, leading to the end of the relationship.
“I thought I had made the right choice. I left the man that truly loved me and followed the one with money. But one day, he told me he was travelling. I later found out he had left the country for good. I never heard from him again,” she added.
The experience left her emotionally broken and full of regret, as she struggled to rebuild meaningful relationships afterward.
Now at 43, she says she often finds it difficult to get commitment from men, as most approach her only for temporary relationships.
She advised young women not to overlook good men because of financial status, stressing that character, love, and patience often matter more in the long run.
