Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central (PDP) has affirmed her readiness to substantiate her sexual harassment claims against Senate President Godswill Akpabio in a court of law.

According to Natasha, the ₦200 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Akpabio has provided her with the opportunity she was previously denied by the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee to present her evidence before a competent judicial authority.

In a statement, the lawmaker explained that the court proceedings now offer the platform she has long sought to validate her allegations. She emphasized her determination to prove that she experienced sexual harassment and that her rejection of the purported advances triggered ongoing political attacks aimed at undermining her career and reputation.

“See you in court, Godswill Akpabio,” she said.

Earlier, the Senate President filed a ₦200 billion suit against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, claiming she spread harmful allegations that depicted him as a sexual predator.

Court filings at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory indicate that Akpabio is seeking substantial damages, public retractions, and nationwide apologies. His claim asserts that her statements exposed him to public shame.

The lawsuit, supported by a comprehensive Statement of Claim and a roster of witnesses, contends that Natasha’s media interviews spanning radio, television, and online platforms portrayed him as someone who exploited his office for personal benefit.

The dispute between the two senators is now moving to the courtroom, where both parties are prepared to present their cases to the public and the legal system.
