“Started the year with no.1, ending it with no.1” – Ruger boasts

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, commonly known as Ruger, a well-known Nigerian performer, addresses the subject of a ‘fake Ruger’ who is impersonating him and playing at performances in Kenya.

The impostor, also known as “Fake Ruger,” has been singing Ruger’s songs at various Kenyan gatherings.

Ruger recently admitted in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra that he has no grudges against the performer who is mimicking him.

He continued by saying that he really wished him success since he saw it as a chance to both promote and support his own music career.

He concluded by advising everyone to relax and give the imposter a little breathing space.

In his words;

“I wish him [‘Fake Ruger’] well, man. I’m happy for him. I won’t shut him down. He’s making his P’s [money]. Everybody must eat.

“My team called my attention to the impersonator but I said man is just trying to hustle. He’s actually promoting my songs in a way because he is not making his own songs and saying it’s Ruger that made the songs.

“He is singing mine, so at the end of the day, they will go back to their houses and stream those songs. That’s the most important thing. Everybody should calm down.”
