On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima gave all concerned parties the assurance that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will quickly bring peace back to the Mangu Local Government Area of the Plateau.

Shettima provided the guarantee when he welcomed John Hirse, the Mishkahan Mwaghavul, a traditional ruler from Mangu, and his entourage on a courtesy visit to his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He asserted that Tinubu was in control of the circumstances, ensuring that all of the nation’s difficult regions would eventually experience peace.

Shettima declared that the government of Tinubu’s administration would have an effect on every region of Nigeria.

Shettima said that the crisis in Plateau has nothing to do with religion, saying,” It is just for us to understand ourselves and coexist peacefully with one another.

”The Plateau is a blessed land with both Muslims and Christians. What binds us together supersedes what divides us.

”This administration will deploy all resources towards addressing all the political contradictions in the bid to restore peace and harmony in the state.”

The VP added, “We are going to address, by the grace of God, all the internal contradictions, the political connotations and even the ethnic undertones that are part of the conflict and ensure we find a lasting solution.

Ours is a great nation chained by so-called social contradictions that we have in the system.

”And it is absolutely essential that for peace and development of our nation, we must restore the confidence of the people and the government.”

Hirse had earlier claimed that he was in Aso Villa with his delegation to express gratitude to the vice president for coming to his coronation.

Shettima claimed that being present at the coronation demonstrated his role as everyone’s father.

He expressed sympathy to the people of Kaduna State and gave the vice president credit for the government’s initial response.

The royal father promised Tinubu’s government both his own and his people’s support.
