Award-winning actress Linda Ejiofor has revealed that she once feared her acting career had come to a standstill before experiencing a major breakthrough that later earned her two awards at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

In an interview with Nollywire, conducted by her husband, actor Ibrahim Suleiman, Ejiofor shared that about three years ago she felt her progress in the film industry had slowed down significantly and turned to prayer for guidance.

She explained that shortly after that period of uncertainty, she was offered two film roles that ultimately transformed her career trajectory.

“Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for something, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories,” she said.

The actress also appreciated her husband’s support during her low moments, noting that he constantly encouraged her even when she struggled to believe in her own performances.

“I am so grateful to God, grateful to my husband because he stood by me through this. He told me that I did well in both movies. To be honest, I didn’t believe him,” she added.

Her career resurgence was later affirmed at the 2026 AMVCA, where she clinched Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd on the same night.
