Portable Visits Mosque To Pray After Being Released From Prison

Portable, a Nigerian musician, stormed his neighborhood to a rousing welcome from supporters after being granted bail following his arraignment in court.

He went to a Mosque late Monday night after perfecting his bail conditions to observe prayers (tarawih) during Ramadan.

On the court’s orders, Portable was previously transported to the Ilaro Correctional Centre in Ogun State’s Yewa South Local Government Area.

It may be recalled that he was arraigned on five counts bordering on assault before the court presided over by the chief magistrate, A.S Shoneye.

Portable, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding judge said the offences are bailable and granted him bail with bail bond of N300,000 and N500,000 as well two sureties who must reside within the jurisdiction of the honorable court.

The case was adjourned to April 26 for trial.

A video which is currently making the rounds online shows the singer being followed by fans upon meeting his bail conditions.

A group of young boys excited over his return, ran after Portable as he was about to enter the mosque and the singer happily told them he wanted to go in to pray before entering the mosque.
