Pictured Pretty Wife Stabs Husbands 7 Times After He Boasted Of Cheating
A pretty wife who stabbed her husband seven times after he admitted cheating on her, has been jailed for six years.
Deborah Rose, from Deal, Kent, launched the attack on John Rose after his affair was revealed during a night of drinking and screamed: ‘I’m gonna kill you’.
Rose, 47, and her husband had been together for 20 years despite him fathering a child with another woman when the couple lived in Spain, Canterbury Crown Court heard.
But she ‘lost it’ on February 28 this year when he admitted he was seeing another woman.
Rose threw a vase, a jug of milk and even a vacuum cleaner at him before grabbing a kitchen knife.
The mother-of-three then cut up his clothes before turning on him shouting ‘I’m gonna kill you’ and stabbing him seven times in the back, leg and arm.
Her blows to his body were so powerful she shattered a bone and slashed his liver.
Mr Rose staggered out of the flat in a nearby pub and staff called for an ambulance, before being airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The court heard how Mr Rose suffered a collapsed lung and a stab wound to his liver, but managed to survive the attack.
Rose was jailed for six years last week after she admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detective Constable Mark Butler said: ‘The argument between Rose and her victim spiralled out of control.
‘Rose reached for a knife in the heat of the moment and has proved she had every intention of using it, which could have had fatal results.
‘She didn’t call an ambulance and he was forced to fend for himself and seek help from members of the public.
‘I hope this prison sentence gives Rose time to reflect on her actions and understand the consequences of what she did.’
The day before the stabbing, Mr Rose had collected his wife from hospital in Margate after she had been admitted for overdosing on painkillers.
Rose, who has been diagnosed with bipolar, asked to stay the night at his flat in Deal, two miles from her home in Great Mongeham where the pair drank Prosecco and had sex.
The following morning she lost control after Mr Rose, who had previously fathered another woman’s child while the couple were living in Spain, came clean about his new relationship.
The court heard Rose had been taking medication for bipolar disorder at the time of the attack, which would have resulted in her extreme mood swings.
The mental disorder causes periods of depression and of abnormally elevated moods which can swing from one extreme to another.
But Rose’s prison sentence was reduced from seven to six years, taking into account her character and work as a counsellor with homeless charity Porchlight.
