Pelumi Nubi, a Nigerian lady who drove solo from London to Lagos, was presented with a brand new car by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Remember how Nigerians greeted Pelumi heroically when she arrived in Nigeria. Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Commissioner of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts, and Culture, met her at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on behalf of the Lagos State Government.

During the celebrations after her arrival, the 28-year-old content producer was named the Lagos Brand’s new ambassador.

Following the celebration, Pelumi received a new car with a customized plate number that read ‘Nubi’ on it.

A viral video showed the touching moment she was presented with the customized car, which was painted blue and white.

Jubril Gawat, Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, spread the news on social media.

He revealed that the London-to-Lagos solo driver donated her old vehicle, which she had used for the trip, to the Brand New J Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History as a monumental present to Lagos State.

He wrote, “Welcome Pelumi Nubi @peluminubi_, Our Brand New Lagos Ambassador, She gets a brand New car from Governor jidesanwoolu, A new home in Lagos, A customized plate number and one more thing, she is donating her vehicle (the one she used for the trip) to our Brand New J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History as monumental gift to Lagos State”
