Anambra Police Rescue Abducted Victim, Recover Arms

Alex Itedjere, a middle-aged man who is purported to be a pastor, has been detained for allegedly fatally dating a young girl early on Friday in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to information obtained by PUNCH, the victim’s remains were found in the pastor’s home in the rural neighborhood.

According to some reports, the cleric used a machete to take the young girl’s life.

But at the time this report was filed, the reasons for why he killed the victim were still largely unknown.

Avenging the young girl’s death, it was claimed that enraged youths from the neighborhood broke into the pastor’s home after the horrific incident.

One of our sources claimed that if security personnel hadn’t been dispatched in time by worried leaders, the enraged youths would have attempted to lynch the cleric as retaliation.

Comrade Israel Joe, a human rights activist, demanded justice right away for the dead girl.

Joe urged CP Wale Abass, the state’s chief of police, to launch an immediate investigation into the incident and bring the accused person to justice in accordance with the law.

In order to comment on the incident, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached at the time this report was filed.

The suspect was, however, arrested this morning, according to a senior security source from the command who confirmed the incident.
