I hear the words courage and boldness thrown around a lot in a country where many including myself knew little about the meaning and often see both as the same thing. Or that the notion of true courage and boldness only looks like this big, huge, daring action, like a hero out of a movie lunging into a fearful situation and emerge victorious after surmounting aligned hurdles. Courage and boldness always confused me and I thought they were pretty much the same thing till I encountered you through the media and other digital channels. You made me realize the difference between these two synonymous words after many years of trials and errors. I realized the use of boldness and courage doesn’t need to look like some action movie hero. Having listened to you severally and have seen the passion that burns through your eyes- passion hot enough to melt the wax and dry up the pelting rain, I came to a drastic conclusion that gifts, talents and purpose for living are the great distinguishing factors that makes us unique entities with templates solely divine.

I have read about the Biafran war, the bloodshed is no longer the headline, lives lost can never be resuscitated, the setbacks and foot drags experienced from then, hitherto, have caused the posterity more pains than they could bear. How could we have known you were created for this sole purpose- to enlighten us with the truth that will set us free? When I hear the word “Boldness”, you’re the first person that comes to mind. When I see the word “Courage”, I see you standing so tall with each of the letters engraved to match your height. Your boldness shakes the nation, melts the mountains, dries up the ocean and makes water spring forth in deserts. I have tried so hard to ferret what drives your eagerness. Your driving force is indeed stronger than steel.

All I want you to know is ….Your boldness shakes the Nation. It silences every other human voice. There is a reason for this extraordinary boldness and courage you are naturally fortified with. There is a reason why you spent years behind the bars and you never considered to cringe in shame and fear. There is a reason even for the amount of melanin on your skin….which accentuates your brightness. You don’t just address IPOB with your voice, the brightness of your skin passes the message across as well. You have stepped on toes, bruised and crushed some egos. However, keep being no one else but you. Don’t ever change your identity for anyone. I may not know for others but so long as I’m concern, your boldness, courage, temerity and assertiveness have given me the true meaning of the words I’ve used over the years “Boldness and Courage”. It gave me a meaning beyond what any lexicon could ever explain. May you live so long to enjoy the course which you’ve laid down your life for. For you to live is BIAFRA, to die is totally out of the option. May Chukwu Okike Abiama protect you always. Your name remains Immortal and cannot be wiped from the sands of history.
