Mariam Anako, the new wife of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, late on Tuesday arrived at the palace of the monarch in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The new wife was ushered into the palace after brief rites at the entrance to the premises.

Mariam thereafter led into the inner court of the palace to meet her husband and other guests waiting to receive her.

The new Ife bride is said to be an oil and gas mogul who comes from an influential family in Kogi state.

It was gathered that arrangements for the Ooni to take a new wife had started in March when the king sent delegates to Anako’s family to request her hand in marriage.

GISTLOVER reported in July that news filtered that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had reportedly gotten over his estranged wife, prophetess Naomi Ogunwusi, and had taken a new wife, Mariam Anako, an Oil and Gas executive, who had vowed to be the monarch’s last wife.

Mariam Anako who works in NestOlil is a native of the Ebira ethnic group in Kogi State.

She was said to have been of immense help to the Ooni and this must have endeared her to him

Nigerian journalist Dele Momodu captured the beautiful moments and shared photos on his Instagram page.

Some of the photos show the imperial majesty and his wife serving couple goals and others captured the moment when Ooni was praying for his wife.
