Oboh Becomes SKICAN President

Mr Joseph Oboh has been confirmed the new president of South Korea International Cooperation Association Nigeria (SKICAN) Alumni and declared himself prepared to guide the organization into a new phase of expansion and cooperation.

KOICA Nigeria’s Country Director, Mr. Son Sungil, stated that SKICAN graduates who had received training through the CIAT program in Nigeria gathered to commemorate their yearly reunion.

 “These remarkable individuals have left an indelible mark on various sectors in Nigeria, from energy to transport, agriculture to technology, education to administration, and governance,” he said.

He said the impressive achievements of SKICAN alumni was a testament to the CIAT programme’s effectiveness and the unwavering dedication of its participants.

“This year’s alumni gathering marked an election year, resulting in the election of nine new officials and Mr. Joseph Oboh as the new president of SKICAN,” he said.

The country director commended SKICAN on its accomplishments and urged the recently elected executive to carry on the tradition of the Association’s growth left by their forebears.

Additionally, Mr. Sungil reiterated KOICA’s resolve to offer unwavering support for the advancement of the association.

The country director was thanked by the recently elected president of SKICAN, Mr. Rabiu Adamu, for his assistance throughout his term in office.

He introduced the new SKICAN Magazine and website during his speech, and these have since become the go-to resources for alumni news and perspectives. In the presence of Mr. Isa Hussani and Mr. Fidelis Ntufam, two previous SKICAN presidents, the magazine was solemnly launched.

Mr. Joseph Oboh said the alumni gathering was not merely a celebration of past achievements but it served as a platform for the alumni to reconnect, share their experiences, and lay the foundation for collaborative efforts to shape a brighter future.
