Nigerians come for singer, Darey Art Alade as he visits late Sound Sultan’s grave, begs for forgiveness

Online sentiment has been sparked by a video of Nigerian musician Darey Art Alade visiting the tomb of the late Sound Sultan.

The well-known Nigerian singer-songwriter, Dare Art Alade, shed a tear when he paid a visit to the tomb of his late colleague, Sound Sultan.

Darey can be seen laying flowers at the gravesite and breaking down in tears in a video that was uploaded to Instagram.

He acknowledged the effect Sound Sultan’s absence had on their life and apologized for not being able to pay his respects earlier.

Dare expressed gratitude and praised God despite the difficulties experienced since Sound Sultan’s passing.

Darey wrote in a touching letter that accompanied the video,

“Lanre, since your sudden departure, I’ve only just been able to visit your gravesite. Ma binu. You know how these things go. Farida and the kids miss you much. We all do in our own various ways.”

@ferdinardpo said: “People are free to choose how they remember those special to them. If you do yours privately and another does his publicly it changes nothing the dead individual wouldn’t see or feel either. However, a public show of remembrance of a special person may trigger some emotion beyond that of the person expressing the remembrance especially of a public figure. Even when you go to church for remembrance or hold family gathering it is the same whichever way.”
