Nigerian Basketball Team Honors Late Sound Sultan

Nigeria Basketball players, D’Tigers honors late renowned rapper, singer and songwriter, Sound Sultan with their warm-up shirts.

The late singer, Sound Sultan born Olarenwaju Fasasi passed away died on Sunday at age 44 after battling cancer of the throat and the news about his death was confirmed by a family member Dr Kayode Fasasi and according to him, Sound Sultan was survived by three children and a wife.

and was buried on the same day in the United States of America according to Islamic rights.

In the video shared on social media, the players were seen rocking shirts embroil with the late singer’s face against their game with Australia

They also had dedicated their victory over Team the United States of America and Argentina to the late veteran musician, Sound Sultan, who was a huge fan of Basketball and contributed a lot to the Basketball scene in Nigeria before his sudden death

Nigeria’s D’Tigers basketball team won their game against Argentina, the world’s fourth-best team, just a few days after defeating the United States of America, the world’s best in terms of basketball.

Following the painful demise of Sound Sultan, the Nigerian Basketball Federation took to their official Twitter page and dedicated the victories against the US and Argentina to him.

The revealed that the veteran singer and songwriter saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball and they intimated how ironic it is that the day he gave up the ghost was the day the team won against USA.

Sharing a photo of the fallen star on their page, Nigerian Basketball Federation wished Sound Sultan a peaceful rest with the caption.
