“Avoid marrying the breadwinner in any family” – Nigerian lady warns women

Israel Kennedy, a Nigerian man, has left a church in Abia state that refused to marry him and his fiancée, Miss Rose, because she is pregnant.

The wedding was supposed to take place in Aba at the Assemblies of God Church, but it was called off a few hours before the ceremony because his fiancée’s pregnancy status was discovered.

The church’s board of directors decided to cancel the wedding in accordance with the church’s founding laws, which strictly prohibit pregnancy before marriage.

Israel Kennedy and Rose were also suspended and fined by the church for violating church law.

The cancellation disappointed the couple and their guests because they had already spent a significant amount of money planning the wedding and reception.

But his friends, family members, and in-laws provided him with the necessary support, and with their help, Kennedy and his wife were able to find a new church in Enyimba City, where they were married.

Based on its own constitution, the new church (name withheld) agreed to marry the man and his wife. The religious house stated that such couples are married after the traditional marriage rites are completed.

A friend of the couple, Uche Simeon said, “The man and his wife are now happy that they have become husbvnd and wife. The embarrassment of last Sunday has been wiped away and they are not even bothered about any more sanctions from their original church.”
