‘Nigeria Now Has Africa’s Largest Private Jet Fleet With Nearly 240 Aircraft’ – Festus Keyamo

  • Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo says Nigeria now officially has the largest private jet fleet in Africa, with nearly 240 aircraft in operation.
  • He said the government is working with Bombardier to establish an aircraft maintenance centre in Nigeria to reduce foreign exchange losses, create jobs, and strengthen the country’s aviation industry.

Nigeria now has the largest private jet fleet in Africa, with nearly 240 private aircraft currently operating across the country, according to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

Keyamo made the disclosure during a strategic meeting with Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Inc. in Montreal, where both parties discussed plans to establish a major aircraft maintenance and service centre in Nigeria.

According to the minister, the proposed facility would significantly reduce the amount of foreign exchange spent on maintaining private jets overseas while creating skilled jobs, boosting local technical expertise, and positioning Nigeria as a regional hub for business aviation services.

“Nigeria officially has the highest number of private jets in Africa with nearly 240 presently operating within the country, and so much foreign currency is repatriated weekly from the country for the maintenance of these aircraft,” Keyamo said.

The engagement forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing aviation reform agenda, which seeks to strengthen partnerships with leading aircraft manufacturers, modernise the aviation industry, and improve operational efficiency across the sector.

In a recent video shared on social media, she addressed the backlash that followed an earlier statement in which she said she was looking forward to getting married so she could cheat on her future husband.

Responding to critics, the woman insisted that her opinion reflects her personal beliefs. She argued that women, like men, can naturally desire multiple romantic partners and that such behavior should not be seen as something exclusive to men.

Explaining her stance further, she described herself as “polygamous in nature,” claiming she has never felt satisfied with having just one romantic partner. According to her, she has held this view since her very first relationship, maintaining that being with a single partner has never suited her.

She said …

“You people are very funny o. So I posted something and said that I cannot wait to marry so I can cheat on my husband and you people are crying. Why are you people crying in my comments section?

So you think it is only men that are polygamous in nature? Since when they born me I have been polygamous in nature. One man no dey do me. One person no dey do me, okay? So I equally know say for marriage man no go do me. So what are you people saying? That is I should hide my own polygamy because of wetin you people go talk?
