According to a post on X on Friday, this reappointment will commence on September 1, 2025.

Okonjo-Iweala, who previously served as the Minister of Finance, began her tenure as the seventh Director-General of the WTO on March 1, 2021. She is notable for being the first woman and the first African to hold this prestigious position.
