Ibrahim Goni, conservator general of the National Park Service (NPS), on Monday said the National Assembly had approved the instigation of 10 new national parks in the country.

At the ceremony for its officers’ awards in the service, the CG made this statement in Abuja.

“It is gratifying to mention that the service has recently received the concurrence of the National Assembly with the formal proclamation of the new national parks into existence.

Because of this development, he noted, the new national parks will open up new areas of the service in the near future.”

Mr. Goni assured all employees, including those who had recently been promoted, that the company would provide a working environment that would allow them to reach their full potential.

Some of the efforts in this direction include regular training programs, training, conferences, seminars, and study tours.

“I request that in return for this kindness, these new officers make sure that they carry out their responsibilities with diligence and to the highest professional standard. Whoever receives much, should also expect much, the CG said.

Mohammed Kabir, assistant conservator general of the Ecology and Resource Department at the NPS, urged the recently promoted officers to remain assiduous in carrying out their responsibilities.

Dinatu Samuel, Conservator of Parks, responded on behalf of the seven CPs, assuring the service that they would work hard to fulfill their organizational mandate also adding that 75 officers received promotions across several levels.
