A Nigerian woman known as Sandra is confused about the decision to make following a financial advise she got from her mother as she prepares to get married.

The working class lady earns almost the same salary as her husband and she owns four plots of land in Ibadan.

Her mum was the one who single handedly raised her because her father is late and she is the only child.

She said that she would be settling down with her fiancé in July and they have been making plans to get their dream home.

But the challenge is that her husband-to-be does not have enough money to purchase the house and she was thinking of supporting him financially but her mother advised against it.

Sandra said that if her daughter does that, her hubby will get used to the idea of splitting bills, so it will be better if he just rented an apartment he can afford.

The soon-to-be wife feels that her mum’s advise might not be the best so she needs other opinions.

She said; “My fiancé and I are getting married by July. He’s just been transferred to Lagos so we are searching for an apartment but the ones we like is above his budget. We earn almost the same amount although he earns a little bit higher. I have money to assist to get our dream house but my mum advise me against it. She said he will get used to us splitting bills and I should let him rent an apartment he can afford. My mum advised I invest my money in real estate.

I have 4 plots of land in Ibadan and My mum wants me to buy more. She knows everything about my finance so whenever I have a lot of money with me, she always want me to buy land I kind of feel bad seeing my fiancé put his own money together to set up our home while I invest mine.
