Controversial media figure Recently, Lillian Afegbai shared a terrifying story on social media about her house helper trying to con her.

Lillian said in an open video that her housekeeper had made up a fake cardiac ailment as part of a scam to defraud her. The housekeeper recruited a male accomplice, whom she claimed to be her brother, adding another level of complexity to the story.

In an unsettling development, Lillian fell for the hoax and gave her house help a sizeable hundred thousand naira, thinking that she was helping to treat the fictitious heart issue.

But when the housekeeper admitted to lying, the truth eventually came to light. The housekeeper came out with the confession because Lillian thought the attempted fraud had something to do with a botched business venture. Lillian then decided to stop hiring her housekeeper.

Frustrated, Lillian wondered out loud what she had done, given her background as a successful businesswoman, to warrant the attention of such a cunning housekeeper.

Lillian Afegbai has encountered several difficult situations in the past, not the least of which being the current incident with her housekeeper. She became well-known in 2022 after posting about a regrettable event on Instagram. She shared a costly experience of her own and cautioned others against attempting to save costs by buying less expensive goods.

Recounting her experience, Lillian said she sent her housekeeper to Mile 12 Market, which carries reasonably priced goods but sadly thieves took the money causing a to lose a huge amount of money

She also described one instance in which she gave a friend’s house assistance over 100,000 naira so they could buy food. Then, after learning that the food supplies she had obtained consisted only of tomatoes and peppers, things became much more frustrating. Lillian joked that her house was bursting at the seams with tomatoes and peppers, and she urged anyone who needed either to go get some.
