- Doris Ogala has denied claims that she was recruited into the AAC by Omoyele Sowore or anyone else, insisting that her governorship ambition was a personal decision.
- While thanking VeryDarkMan for his past support, she called for peace and urged Nigerians to unite rather than engage in public disputes.

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has responded to claims made by social media personality Martins Vincent Otse (VDM), insisting that her decision to contest for governor under the African Action Congress (AAC) was entirely her own.
In a statement shared on social media, Ogala acknowledged VDM’s past support but said she was choosing peace over conflict.
“I deeply respect your strength, but I choose to distance myself from this misunderstanding. You have come through for me in the past, and I do not take that for granted. However, I choose peace over chaos.”
She rejected suggestions that anyone influenced her political ambition, stressing that she independently decided to run for office.
“My decision to run for governor is entirely my own, and I am not someone anyone can dictate to.”
Ogala also addressed speculation linking her candidacy to AAC leader Omoyele Sowore, stating that he was unaware she had obtained the party’s nomination form until a vetting session.
“Omoyele Sowore was never aware I had obtained an African Action Congress (AAC) nomination form until a particular vetting class session. Since I declared my interest to run, I have neither spoken to nor seen Sowore until the day I saw him in court.”
She further appealed for unity among supporters, urging them to stop attacking one another and instead focus on confronting what she described as the country’s real problems.
“I want to plead with you all to sheathe your swords, come together, and join forces so we can retire those oppressors who have intentionally hijacked our system. I love you both. God bless you.”
