A Nigerian broadcaster, Emem Isong, has stirred significant reactions on social media after posting a bold message on Facebook addressing love, financial readiness, and emotional responsibility in relationships.

Her post, which quickly gained traction online, highlighted the emotional challenges some women face when they become involved with men who lack direction, stability, or financial discipline.

The message has since generated heated debate across various platforms, with users expressing mixed opinions about her perspective.

In her post, Emem Isong painted a picture of relationships where women gradually lose their sense of self while trying to support partners who are still struggling to find their footing.

She explained that what often begins with hope, care, and emotional support can eventually turn into a draining experience.

She wrote: “You ever seen a woman lose herself trying to love a man who had nothing to give her but stress? I have. And it’s ugly.”

She added that many women start out patient and hopeful but eventually become overwhelmed by emotional pressure and unexpected responsibilities.

The broadcaster was also critical of men who enter relationships without having financial or personal stability in place, stressing that love alone is not enough to sustain a healthy partnership.

According to her post: “A man with no money, no plan, no discipline has no damn business chasing love.”

She further argued that some men unfairly rely on their partners for support while they try to sort out their lives, describing such expectations as unhealthy and one-sided.

Emem Isong also stressed the need for men to reflect on what they bring into relationships before pursuing love. She emphasised the importance of peace, stability, and emotional security in partnerships.

She stated: “If you can’t provide peace, protection, or progress leave her alone.”

She warned that pulling a partner into personal confusion or instability often leads to emotional harm rather than personal growth.
