A member of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), and eligible vote has cried out online after he was attacked by thugs while trying to cast his vote in Lagos state.
The guy known as @Lion_Perseus on Twitter said that some thugs invaded his polling unit in Oba’s compound, Ijegun, Alimosho and chased away all voters who are not Yorubas.
According to him, the APC membership card he showed them could not save him as they still descended on him.
He said that he stood his ground and tried to fight them single-handed as others ran away but they inflicted injuries on him.
The APC member shared photo of his badly wounded head and noted that police officers were watching as he was being brutalized.
He, however, added that he was still able to vote after the violent exchange ended.
He wrote; “Yoruba men came to the PU at oba’s compound, Ijegun, Alimosho and chased all non Yorubas away. My APC membership card couldn’t save me. They messed up my head and leg. Men of NPF were watching the fight.
All my cards are always in my wallet. All the half-men scrammed. I stood my ground, fought, got injured, but still voted!”
