1.Tinibu Reveals His True Relationship with Buhari

Ahmed Bola Tinubu, National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he has a good and productive relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari.

It is rumored that there is a crack in the relationship between Buhari and Tinubu and that the crack was tactically created to stifle Tinubu’s presidential ambition and pave way for another candidate to clinch the 2023 presidency.

Speaking to Daily Trust on Tuesday, Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, denied reports that the two political gladiators have a strained relationship.

Rahman added that the insinuation of a cold war between them is perpetrated by people who profit from causing controversy where there is none.

2. Withdraw Soldiers From Politicians – Wike To Army Chief

Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, has called for the immediate withdrawal of soldiers from politicians.

Wike made the call on Tuesday when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

He asked the Attahiru to withdraw soldiers from politicians so that the officers can secure the country effectively, adding that the Nigerian Army is overstretched.

Wike advised the Army Chief not to engage in politics, lamenting the role played by the army in the 2019 election in River state.

The governor urged Attahiru to curb the security challenges facing the country and make a difference in his new position.

3. Supreme Court Tags APC Irresponsible Political party

The All Progressives Congress was berated by The Supreme Court for accusing three justices of having a secret meeting with the People’s Democratic Party over Imo North Senatorial District by-election held December last year.

There have been controversies surrounding the election outcome after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared APC the winner of the election without announcing any authentic candidate based on conflicting court orders on the party’s candidacy.

Both members of the party, Ifeanyi Ararume, and Francis Ibezim, were in a legal battle over the senatorial seat, but Justice Taiwo, of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on March 18, ordered that the former be issued the certificate of return.

4. PDP: Zoning 2023 Presidential Ticket Not Decided

Reports on throwing the 2023 presidential ticket open or zoning it to a particular geo-political region has been denied by The People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

According to a statement on Wednesday, signed by Its Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said it had not adopted the recommendation of the report submitted by Bauch Governor, Bala Mohammed-led committee.

5. PDP Warns Buni Over Supreme Court Comment

The People Democratic Party has asked the Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, to resign over his comment against the Supreme Court, following its judgment on the Imo North senatorial dispute.

On Wednesday, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP condemned Buni for insinuating that apex court justices held a meeting with some PDP leaders, with a view to awarding the opposition party victory.

The statement reads: “It is indeed appalling that the illegal Mai Buni leadership of the APC could, in their penchant for falsehood, go to the extent of falsely accusing the justices of the Supreme Court of holding a meeting with PDP leaders allegedly to subvert justice, in a case, in which the PDP is not even a party.

6. Nigerian Army Kill 16 Bandits And Tag Them IPOB ESN In Aba

A joint operation of the Nigerian Army and police has led to the death of about 16 operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a military source told Sahara Reporters on Wednesday.

The source said on Tuesday night hundreds of security operatives launched a heavy attack on the camp of ESN in Aba, Abia state, killing about 16 of them and injuring others.

Reporters gathered that the operation was in response to a series of attacks against security personnel in the South-East.

Not less than 20 security operatives have been killed in the region by unknown gunmen in the last three months.

Police stations are also not left out in the assault as three of them have been razed in 2021.
