Last Warning about Tin: You'll Not Be Able to Use Your Bank Account after Tomorrow If You Do Not Get Your TIN

According to the Federal Government of Nigeria, new Finance Law, every Nigeria who operates a bank account, earns money either through salary, or even artisans, you are required to have a unique Taxpayer Identification Number.

This is the evidence to show that you are a Tax payer in the country and performing your civic duties. As a way of forcing Nigerians to pay their tax, the FG has mandated all Deposit Money Banks, DMBs in the country to compel every Nigerian to produce their TIN numbers as a prerequisite to operating their bank accounts. This simply means is that you won’t be able to carry out any transactions on your account from 1st February, 2020 if you do not have a TIN. So it is advisable you apply for your own tax identification number, it is free and easy.

How do I get a TIN, you might be wondering? All you need is your Bank Verification Number, BVN and then register on the portal ETAX and follow the instructions there to get your own TIN.
