A young Nigerian woman with sickle cell syndrome shares her nine-month pregnancy journey and discusses the challenges she faced before having her child.
Adetoyinbo Folashade, a TikTok user, shared her pregnancy experience as a sickle cell patient.
In a video released by @folabeautifier, Folashade explained how she conquer common pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, colds, and more.
However, three weeks before her delivery, she had a severe cough, and her PCV plummeted to 24%.
She was hospitalized and spent the crossover night into 2024 in the hospital, despite feeling much better.
She had a significant breathing issue just before the new year, and her contractions started. She was eventually prepared for a caesarian section on January 2nd, during which she delivered a baby boy.
She shared her story and captioned the post, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.”
Other sickle cell patients have already crowded her page to applaud her strength while sharing similar anxieties.
