Lady Shares Why Her Friend Quietly Exited School Reunion Group Amid Heavy Donations

An X user has revealed the reason her friend exited a secondary school reunion WhatsApp group after seeing the scale of financial contributions being requested.

The user, identified as @Olami-deeEbony, explained that preparations for the upcoming reunion have attracted millions of naira in donations from old classmates.

According to her, the minimum contribution set for the event is ₦100,000, while more than 10 members of the group have reportedly donated ₦500,000 each. She also noted that an anonymous donor contributed as much as ₦2 million.

She further added that the group administrator instructed members to post proof of every payment made in the group chat.

Sharing why her friend decided to leave, she wrote: “The least amount paid so far is ₦100k. My friend quietly left the group immediately. She said, ‘So make I go drop receipt of ₦10k make una see me finish’.”
