A Nigerian lady recently took to social media to share her surprise after a man she was casually dating sent her a list of rigid “commandments” that he expected her to follow if their relationship were to continue.
She revealed the story in a TikTok video captioned, “POV: My talking stage gave me commandments and rules.”
In the conversation, the man, who introduced himself as Richie, reminded her that he had previously mentioned wanting to set clear boundaries about what he prefers in a partner. When she expressed willingness to listen, he immediately sent over his list.
Richie’s “Commandments” included eight strict rules:
- Delete all male contacts from her phone.
- Whenever she goes out, she must video call him while leaving, remain on the call until she arrives, and stay on the call until she returns home.
- Avoid wearing short clothing; all outfits must be at least three-quarters length.
- Limit phone use strictly to calls with him; otherwise, no phone usage.
- Stop attending Winners Chapel and start attending his church, Watchman.
- Only communicate with him and her parents, and she isn’t required to talk to her parents daily.
- Cut ties with all male friends, including one named David and another saved as “Blood,” whom he suspects is not her real brother.
- Avoid interacting with anyone else, male or female — he must be her sole contact.
Unsettled by these controlling demands, the woman refused to accept the conditions and called out Richie’s behavior as excessive in their chat.
Her TikTok video quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and sparking discussions. Many viewers warned her about the obvious red flags and encouraged her to end things before the situation worsened.
