Yahaya Ododo, Kogi state APC Governorship Candidate has resigned from the party and joined the Action Alliance with less than one month until the Kogi state governorship election. He has stated that his decision is based on the need to enshrine equity, fairness, and justice in the Governorship chronicles of the State.

This was said in a statement made by Yahaya Ododo in Lokoja on Monday morning.

Omale, a retired military officer, stated that Kogi State’s current administration ended there at Lugard House by chance and that Kogi-West should now produce the state’s future governor.

According to him, among all the governorship candidates, only Otunba Braimoh has a rich manifesto that can lift the state out of poverty that has ravaged it for years.

The statement reads in part, “I have been in the politics of Kogi State for long, I have worked for the former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Olushola Akanmode and we are ready to work for you.

“The party has continued to receive decampees from various Parties including a Stalwart of PDP in Ojoku Ward, Hon. Samuel Omale, and his teaming supporters. Also, some members of the All Progressives Congress defected to AA, saying they were committed to realizing the wealth creation program of the governorship Candidate”. He said.

In a same vein, Mr. Samuel Omale, a former PDP supporter in the Ojoku ward who just switched to AA, gave the new members a mission to visit all the corners of the local government to solicit support for Otunba Olayinka Braimoh and his running companion, Alhaji Yahaya Tijani Imam.

In response, Braimoh addressed the new party members and his supporters present at the defection ceremony that he is working to eradicate poverty from Kogi State and its inhabitants through the implementation of his STAT Agenda, which stands for Solid Minerals Development, Trade, Agriculture, Trade, and Tourism.

He continued, saying that his plans for the state will put food on everyone’s tables since Kogi state isn’t supposed to be indigent.

He solicited more support from the Ankpa electorate in his bid to rescue the state from poverty.
