One of the most anticipated sequels in the Nigerian movie industry, ‘King of Boys: The Return of the King’, is set to be released on 27th August 2021. Film director, Kemi Adetiba, made this announcement on her social media platforms.
Unlike the first film, ‘King of Boys,’ the sequel will be television series; becoming the first Original Netflix series from Nigeria.
King of Boys was originally released in 2018. It is by far one of the most-watched and highest-grossing Nigerian movies ever. The storyline talks about the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami (actress Sola Sobowale), a businesswoman and politician whose past haunted her in a very terrible way.
The film’s director, Kemi Adetiba is arguably the best female film director in Nigeria. She produces great storylines which capture the hearts of many people. She is also known for directing music videos. Her works have appeared on MTV Base TV, SoundCity, BET, and Netflix. She is the director of the second highest-grossing movie in Nigeria, ‘The Wedding Party.’
