Kenyan chef begins ‘cook-a-thon’ trial, seeks to beat Hilda Baci’s record

A Kenyan chef by the name of Maliha Mohammed has started a cook-a-thon trial days after Nigerian chef Hilda Baci was officially recognized as the Guinness World Record holder.

She announced the start of her cooking marathon on her Instagram page on Friday, June 16, saying it will last through Sunday, June 18.

The mother of two, who prepared food for 72 hours in 2018, previously declared her intention to shatter two world records, one of which is held by Hilda Bassey Essien, also known as Hilda Baci.

Maliha claimed that this was the second trial, and she had already secured a sponsor. She asked for assistance from the public while live-streaming it on Instagram.

“Hellooooo Kenya and the world. Tomorrow will be cooking non stop for 55hours and making 100 recipes.

Leezzzzz gooooo. Tudor mombasa from Friday 10am to Sunday 5pm. This is a 2ND TRIAL TRAINING. comment below which live should I go with for 55hours !!, she wrote on Thursday.

The 40-year-old chef revealed that she would be doing the cooking in Tudor, Mombasa, and it will last for 55 hours and in that time, 100 recipes will be prepared.*
