Pastor Yohanna Buru and Sheikh Ahmad Gumi have been honored by the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement at Christ the King Cathedral in Kaduna State for their efforts to foster religious tolerance and harmony among the populace.
Christopher Solomon, the Church Pastor, reportedly told the News Agency of Nigeria that Gumi and Buru were chosen because of their exceptional services to humanity and their steadfast pursuit of peace.
He noted that because of their steadfast dedication to promoting peace in the state, the two have been recognized as “Peace Ambassadors.”
“Their efforts in promoting religious tolerance and fostering better understanding have played a significant role in mitigating religious extremism and attacks among adherents of different faith-based organizations,” he said.
In response, the prize winners expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the honor bestowed upon them.
Additionally, Buru and Gumi exhorted Christians and Muslims to continuously live in cooperation and peace with one another.
They praised the organizers for the acknowledgment and urged the federal and state governments to address the current security issues impacting all facets of human activity.
In addition, the recipients prayed for harmony and stability throughout the state and the nation.
