“I’ve Been Sad”- Kunle Afolayan Appeals For Help Amid Soaring Fuel Costs

  • Kunle Afolayan, a Nollywood actor and entrepreneur, has voiced concerns about rising fuel prices.
  • He revealed in a viral video that his company, KAP Film Village, incurs monthly diesel costs of approximately N11 million.
  • Despite having solar energy systems in place, the high fuel prices continue to impact his business significantly.

Nollywood actor and entrepreneur Kunle Afolayan has openly expressed his struggles with the recent surge in fuel prices.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Afolayan shared that his company, KAP Film Village, spends around N11 million monthly on diesel, despite having solar energy installed.

Describing the financial strain, he explained, “It’s becoming unsustainable. Even the diesel we purchase is often on credit. We manage to pay off small amounts when we earn, but sometimes it takes two months before we can settle and take another on credit.”

Appealing for public support, Afolayan added that his business urgently needs a financial boost.

“We need a loan to expand our solar power setup. Any help would mean a lot,” he said.

He continued, “The N1,500 per liter diesel price is overwhelming. In one of our ventures, Cab Village, we spent about N11 million over just four to five weeks. Even with solar energy, our diesel costs remain high. The jump from N995 or N1,000 to over N1,500 per liter has been very difficult to handle.”
