Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has lashed at those who see mourning periods as a time to advise a grieving person.
The singer gave the advice in the wake of news of his colleague, Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma, losing their 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi, in a domestic accident.
It was reported that Ifeanyi died on Monday, October 31, after drowning at his father’s Banana Island home. He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
In a tweet he shared, Timi Dakolo stated that people should not make it their job to advise those who are grieving. According to him, the timing is wrong and people should learn to pray for them and go their way.
He tweeted;
“It is not your job to advice a grieving person, the timing is wrong. Just pray for them ad go your way.
“You and your advice are mad”.
