INEC Sets to Feed Police Officers with ₦6 Billion during 2019 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is demanding the sum of N6 billion to feed policemen during the 2019 general elections.

This is contained in its budget for the polls presented to the House of Representatives by the Commission, The Punch reports.

Stunned by the figure, the lawmakers have asked the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, to defend the amount requested.

As of the time of filing this reports, the budget defence is still ongoing at the National Assembly.

The meeting is for the presentation of the INEC 2019 general elections budget by the commission to the committee.
