Gistlover notes that Gumi had threatened to remove President Bola Tinubu from office for eight years earlier this week, stating that it was risky to entrust Christians and Southerners with Nigeria’s national security.

The preacher made this statement while denouncing Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for hosting the Israeli ambassador to Nigeria in his office and intending to work with Israel on security-related matters in Abuja.

Gumi had called the outgoing Rivers State governor a “satanic person.”

The cleric asserted that if the FCT and Israel worked together, Muslims would suffer.

Groups and individuals have called for the Islamic cleric’s immediate arrest in response to his remarks, claiming that they have damaged the reputation of Nigerian Christians.

In response to Gumi’s remarks, Ohanaeze Ndigbo declared that the clergyman had to be placed under custody, calling him a “well-known associate of bandits.”

Gumi’s arrest was also demanded by former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who added that Muslims who are logical and rational will not succumb to Gumi and his associates’ terroristic speech, just as Christians in Nigeria cannot bow to anyone.

However, Gumi responded, “I should not have reply for idiots in a democracy,” when contacted by Daily Post over the calls for his arrest.
