Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his belief that he won a past presidential election in Nigeria, while also calling for greater transparency and credibility in the country’s electoral process.

Speaking during an interview on the NevOn Podcast, Obi insisted that despite the official outcome of the election, he remains convinced of his position regarding the results.

“In the last election, I won. Forget about the proof that i won. One day, they will declare me,” he said.

The former governor maintained that his participation in Nigeria’s presidential race is already part of the country’s political history and expressed confidence that the full details surrounding the election would eventually become public knowledge.

“I have contested election in Nigeria as a presidential candidate and won,” he stated. “If one was declared, one day the story will be told.”

Obi also reiterated his willingness to continue participating in Nigeria’s democratic process, stating that he remains available to serve the country through future elections.

“For now, I can tell you, I’m offering myself for general election in Nigeria,” he said.

He further expressed optimism that Nigeria’s electoral system would improve over time and become more transparent.

“One day the process will be correct. The process will be transparent and it will happen,” he added.
