Speaking in a recent interview, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa revealed that while he’s proud of his achievements in uplifting underprivileged communities through chess, he envisions more for his life.
According to Onakoya, he doesn’t want his legacy to be limited to philanthropy or coaching; he wants to be a billionaire with the capacity to shape systems and make far-reaching decisions.
“I want to be a man of power and affluence,” he stated, emphasizing his drive to not only impact lives but also command meaningful influence on a global scale.

“I want to be a billionaire. And I mean that. I’ve always been afraid to say that. I just don’t want to be known as just the chess in slums guy. The charity guy. I want to make a lot of money. And I also want to have a lot of power. And with that power comes new responsibility. And my responsibility and duty will always be to the children.”
