Notable entertainer Speed Darlington has shared why he finds it difficult to trust people, including those within his family circle.
He explained that the issue dates back to an experience he had abroad, where he was compensated after being involved in a car accident. At the time, he faced challenges accessing his bank account, so he asked his mother to assist him in handling the funds.
However, he later discovered that the money had been spent, a situation he says deeply changed his outlook on trust.
According to him, the experience made him more guarded in his dealings with people, as it was difficult to accept that something like that could happen within his own family.
He added, speaking in Igbo, that the incident remains a major reason for his cautious approach toward trusting others.
“There’s nobody I trust in this world. I no even trust my mama. There was a time I had an accident abroad, the company paid me for damaging my car. At the time, my bank had issue and I didn’t have an account. So I gave it to my mother and tell her to help me cash it, my mama cash the money chop am. She chop me unauthorized. So I no trust anybody if my own mama fit chop me. If my mama can chop me, who’s says a POP man cannot chop me, my own mama chop me”
